The Mill is located in a tranquil dell, adjacent to meadows and wooded walks with picnic facilities and a safe garden area. We don't have many parking places, and we like to keep them for people who need to alight near their destination, so please don't drive into the grounds if you can park safely outside.

Visitors to The Mill can sketch or paint in the peace and quiet, enjoying the natural surroundings of the building and the millpond. It provides an opportunity to escape the hustle of the city and enjoy the views and wildlife whilst appreciating the past. Familes with children enjoy doing the Bug Hunt - just ask in reception.

You can also enjoy a visit to Path Head Water Mill as part of your day out in The Blaydon Burn Trail.

(It's steep!) If you exit on the eastbound (from Carlisle to Newcastle) you can cross the railway bridge to the riverside walk, or just turn right out of the station and walk on the footpath until you see Pumphrey's across the road.
