I started volunteering to help combat depression when my marriage ended.  I first volunteered with National Trust at Wallington, cutting grass and forestry work and I now volunteer as a Ranger at National Trust at Gibside on Thursdays.

I first visited Path Head Watermill about four years ago when out walking and loved it.  About 18 months ago it was suggested to me that I may like to volunteer, so I met with Simon, one of the Trustees, and started volunteering.

I really enjoy working here … grass cutting and general maintenance.  My fellow volunteers are so easy to work with and the craic is great fun.

In the 18 months I’ve been here, the change and progress on the site is absolutely amazing.

Looking forward to spending many more happy hours here.
